Meet Alexis Fila
Alexis began dancing at the age of 5. Due to her family moving around a lot, she was privileged to have received a variety of dance training. When she was 8 years old, she began seriously training in ballet. Alexis graduated with the highest award of Distinction for Grades 2 and 3 in the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). A few years later she began a rigorous pre-professional ballet program.
In high school, she branched out and became part of an advanced competition team where she ranked in the top ten for Dance Master’s Miss Dance of North Carolina competition. After graduating from high school, she attended Global School of Ministry in Pennsylvania and assistant taught for Dance Revelation Studio.
When she graduated from ministry school with an Associate’s Degree, she moved back to Michigan and became a lead teacher for Studio 45. She taught all styles of dance there as well as all skill levels. Upon getting married in 2014 and moving to Denver, she became a member of A*dore Dance Company, a professional contemporary dance company. She continued her teaching career at Boutique Dance Academy and X-treme Dance Force where she taught advanced Ballet/Pointe and Contemporary for their competition teams.
In June 2017, Alexis and her husband moved back to Petoskey, which is where they call home. Alexis has always dreamed of starting her own dance studio and now that dream is becoming a reality with the opening of Beautiful Feet Dance Studio. Alexis has fallen in love with teaching dance and the students in which she has been privileged to teach. Alexis strives to show every dancer that she is for them and believes in them. The dancers who have studied under her have excelled in their technique and love for dance.
Alexis is so excited to open up the doors of Beautiful Feet Dance Studio September 5, 2017.
